I attended the 50501 Protest in Denver.
It was colorful, loving, and powerful. I felt goodness in the bliss of diversity. The protest was both well organized, and independently organized. It was a success from many aspects. I am impressed, grateful, and in awe of 50501. WAY TO GO!!!
I felt comfortable. I felt safe. The public came out to defend democracy and freedom.
We listened to passionate speakers and cheered for various communities.
Lots of Mexican flags flew proudly. Progress flags and American flags, many refusing to let the idea of The United States of America die.
We were amidst clever shirts and signs. Hatred was nowhere to be found.
I was covered in hearts. Sammy wore goggles in case there was pepper spray or tear gas. Love and fear walking side by side. Love winning.
Our best chance is to love the biggest and loudest we can, and we did that today. We cheered for each other. We celebrated our freedom. We said what we were feeling to each other in speeches and on signs. We listened. We shared hope.
Today I saw unity. Today I saw love. Today I saw color. Today I saw independent thought and freedom.
I will spend the rest of my life fighting for love, for inclusion, for freedom, for goodness. Love always wins, but its warriors must be diligent, strong, bold, and brave. They showed up today! #loveloudly #protest #50501 #Denver
